- Submit application through the grants and scholarship portal by January 15: The application must be complete and submitted on or before January 15 each cycle; the portal allows saving drafts.
- Write the required essay: Essay must address why the applicant is applying and their connection to Sons of Norway.
- Provide two letters of recommendation: Applicant must supply email addresses for two recommenders; letters do not need to be complete by the January 15 deadline but should follow soon after.
- List academic institutions applied to or accepted by: If the applicant has not decided on a school, they should list the schools applied to and note any acceptances.
