The Shari Simon Greenberg Community Scholarship (formerly the SYF Community Scholarship) is offered by the Simon Youth Foundation to graduating high school seniors living near a Simon mall or in surrounding communities, awarding one-time Community Awards (up to $1,500) or renewable Awards of Excellence based on academic promise, financial need, and other factors.

Application requirements

- Complete the online scholarship application via the SYF application portal: Applications are submitted through apply.mykaleidoscope.com during the announced application window.
- Submit written response(s)/essay as part of the application: Selection criteria explicitly include a 'written response' component alongside academic promise and financial need.
- Demonstrate financial need: Financial need is one of the stated evaluation criteria; first-generation college students are given close consideration.
- Plan to enroll at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school: Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition at an accredited postsecondary institution.
