KASF is a national nonprofit, volunteer-managed foundation that awards need- and merit-based scholarships (generally $500-$5,000) to students of Korean heritage enrolled full-time at U.S. schools, administered through seven regional chapters.

Application requirements
- Determine and apply through the correct KASF regional chapter: Applicants must apply to the region where their school is/will be located during the scholarship year; applications submitted to the wrong region are disqualified.
- Confirm Korean heritage, full-time enrollment, and GPA eligibility: Must be of Korean heritage, enrolled full-time during the scholarship application year, and hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Submit online application by June 30 at 12:00am EST: The application deadline each cycle is June 30 at 12am EST; a 7-day grace period applies for supporting documents only.
- Submit required essay: Essay is one of the evaluation criteria alongside financial need, scholastic achievement, recommendations, and community service/extracurricular activities.
- Provide letters of recommendation: Recommenders are emailed a link to an online form, or may write and upload a letter.
- Submit financial documentation: International/self-supporting students submit a Personal Financial Statement form; other applicants submit tax documents demonstrating financial need.
