Application requirements
- Register or log in to the AWS scholarship application portal
- Complete the Contact Information and Academic Profile sections: After these sections are complete, the portal displays all scholarships the applicant is eligible for.
- Submit a Personal Statement essay (background, welding/work experience, career goals)
- Provide an official transcript and two letters of recommendation: Letters must be from teachers, work supervisors, or mentors who can attest to work ethic and accomplishments.
- Upload a summary of school costs (tuition, fees, books, supplies) and a headshot photo
- For need-based awards, submit FAFSA Submission Summary; free AWS student membership encouraged: Some National Scholarships require demonstrated financial need (cost of attendance exceeding the Student Aid Index).
