Application requirements
- Apply in the window for your award category: Applications open November 1. Two different deadlines: April 1 for the Incoming Freshman and Community College/Trade School scholarships, February 1 for the General, ANS Cares, Division-Administered, and Local Section ones. Notifications go out April 15 to May 15 and awards are dispersed after August 20. Evaluation weighs academic excellence, leadership within ANS, references, career goals, and financial need.
- Join ANS (timing depends on which award you want): The rule differs by category: undergraduate and graduate scholarships are open only to existing ANS student members, but graduating high-school seniors applying for an Incoming Freshman scholarship do NOT need to be members to apply -- they must join before funds are distributed. Do not let membership stop you from applying as a senior.
