Needs-based scholarship for children of post-9/11 servicemembers who died on active duty or post-9/11 veterans with a VA disability rating of 50% or higher. Covers qualified educational expenses after other aid; recipients may reapply up to six times.

Application requirements
- Complete the online Legacy Scholarship application: Apply through register.legion.org/legacy-scholarship-application; create a Legion.org account to save progress.
- Upload required military and disability documentation: Requires DD1300, DD214/NGB Form 22, or official VA disability rating paperwork as applicable.
- Submit financial information for need-based review: Legacy Scholarship is needs-based; portal determines eligibility after financial data entry.
