Application requirements
- Upload problem-set solutions as one PDF: PROMYS asks applicants to submit solutions to a challenging problem set; handwritten solutions must be scanned legibly and converted to PDF.
- Upload a school transcript or report card: PROMYS accepts an unofficial copy; homeschooled students should upload a description of courses and studies undertaken.
- Complete the online application form and short answers: The form asks for personal short answers and summaries of problem-set solutions in text boxes.
- Request a mathematics teacher recommendation: Applicants enter the recommender's name and email in Submittable; PROMYS says the teacher form must be received for consideration.
- Have a parent or guardian complete the financial aid form if applicable: Applicants seeking financial aid trigger a parent/guardian form through Submittable; PROMYS lists a separate 2026 financial-aid deadline.
