Economics for Leaders (EFL) is a one-week, selective residential summer program run by the Foundation for Teaching Economics for high school sophomores and juniors, held at college campuses nationwide, that combines instruction in economic reasoning with leadership development. A synchronous virtual version is also offered.

Application requirements
- Create an online application account and start the application: Applicants create a profile in the FTE application portal to begin the application.
- Answer three personal insight questions: Short essay-style responses to three personal insight questions.
- Submit one letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher, coach, or other adult: A letter from an adult who can offer a comprehensive assessment; not restricted to a teacher and not a formal nomination.
- Submit complete high school transcripts: Complete high school transcripts are required.
- Pay the non-refundable $35 processing fee: A $35 non-refundable processing fee is required to submit the application.
- Complete the scholarship section of the application (optional, if requesting aid): Optional; only for applicants requesting financial aid. Scholarship funding is limited to US citizens or US residents.
