Future Problem Solving Program International (FPSPI) runs Global Issues, Community Projects, Creative Writing, and Storytelling competitions for students in Junior (grades 4-6), Middle (grades 7-9), and Senior (grades 10-12) divisions, culminating in an annual International Conference open only to regional affiliate champions.

Special eligibility to verify
- Participate as part of a registered team or individually under an adult coach: Students register under an adult coach (parent, teacher, or mentor) who serves as the point of contact; Global Issues Problem Solving allows teams of up to four students or individual participation.
- Only regional/state affiliate champions qualify for the International Conference: FPSPI states participation at the International Conference is limited to regional affiliate champions; the organization cites roughly 7% of participating students qualifying to compete at the IC in a given year.
Application requirements
- Register as part of a team (up to 4 students) or individually under an adult coach
- Complete practice and qualifying problem(s) during the competition season: Two practice problems and one qualifying problem are offered annually before regional/affiliate competition.
- Compete in your state/regional affiliate bowl
- Place as an affiliate champion to earn an invitation to the International Conference
- Register for the International Conference and pay applicable fees by the published deadline: In the 2026 cycle, registration opened February 1 and was due by May 1, 2026; a $100 late fee applied to registrations/payments after that date.
