State First-Place Winners receive a U.S. Series EE Savings Bond ($500 purchase value / $1,000 at maturity) per student; Regional Finalists and Regional Winners receive additional bond value; National Winners receive a cumulative bond plus $3,000 (purchase value, $6,000 at maturity) per student.

eCYBERMISSION is a free, virtual STEM competition run by the U.S. Army (AEOP) and NSTA in which teams of students in grades 6-9 identify a problem in their community and investigate it with science or solve it with engineering, submitting their work as a 'Mission Folder' for judging.

Application requirements
- Register team of 2-4 students (grades 6-9) plus an adult Team Advisor on ecybermission.com: Registration for the 2026-2027 cycle opens August 12, 2026 and closes February 24, 2027.
- Identify a real problem in the team's community to investigate via science or solve via engineering
- Submit a completed Mission Folder documenting the project by the deadline: 2026-2027 cycle Mission Folder deadline is March 3, 2027.
- Participate in virtual judging/interview period: 2026-2027 virtual judging period is March 10-24, 2027.
